About this series

Done on two separate contracts (West Coast and Midwest) from June 1993 to July 1994, the series is comprised of 79 interviews conducted by Kate Moore, faculty member in the Department of General Linguistics at the University of Helsinki in Finland. These contracts were paid for by the Statue of Liberty–Ellis Island Foundation.
